Crisis Reveals

It is through adversity and troubling times when who we really are and what we are truly capable of are revealed.  Times of uncertainty creates unique leadership opportunities.

Helen Keller said, “Although the world is full of suffering, it is also full of the overcoming of it.”

“On the other side of a storm is the strength that comes from having navigated through it. Raise your sail and begin.” – Gregory Williams

“Social Distancing” is the word of the year and is creating a new normal.

It’s an introvert’s dream!

1. Leadership is Revealed

A.  You are the Leader for times like this

B.  You will always make the right decision when you put people first

C.  If you don't know what to do choose what will help people 

D.  "Leadership is influence, nothing more and nothing less" – Maxwell

E.   People usually rise to the level of expectations of a leader who has believed in them.  This time will reveal how your leadership has been to this point and possibly what needs to be improved moving forward.

F.   Carey Nieuwhof, “Too many leaders practice reactionship in crisis, not leadership. Your job isn’t just to react to what’s happening, it’s to lead people in light of what’s happening.”

G.  If you are leading a team of any kind – COMMUNICATION is key! It adds value to everyone on the team. People make up what they don’t know and it’s a place where fear can grow.

2. Character is Revealed

A.   Being an Authentic Leader

B.   Our true character is revealed when we are under pressure

C.  Having a good character requires us to guard our mind and heart

D.  People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care

E.   There is so much happening right now that you cannot control.  But you can control how you respond and act.

3. Priority is Revealed

A.   Time is not the issue…it is a question of what our priorities are

B.   Reflections of our priorities should always lead to actions

C.  Where our focus goes – so does our energy and resources…so what is your main focus right now?

4. Humanity is Revealed

A.   Servant leadership and kindness – great acts of kindness are being shown all around the world.  It is time to show sacrificial leadership.

B.   “Not all of us can do great things, but we can all do small things with great love.” Mother Theresa
